What I learned in 日本語 this Week

2012年5月19日 日本語 クラス
Session 2

I am mentally exhausted. I really feel so exhausted and I'm so overwhelmed about my new Module 3 日本語 クラス.
I feel like an idiot having some panic moments everytime the せんせい calls my name "トレイシーサン" I just felt so nervous of not knowing the answers rather than absorbing any of the lessons at all. With my new up and coming work ahead... I really feel so overwhelmed and I highly doubt if I can even learn anything from this now.
I used to enjoy studying and looking forward to the
weekends for my Nihongo Kurasu
I even make my notes so fun!
I used to have fun with my past classes and I feel so enthusiasts with learning even if I just master a little I feel much enjoyment that I look forward to it every session. This time I feel traumatized having not to to answer the damn recitation and I'm still figuring out the question the teacher is already expecting for an answer!! It's too hard for me!!
I'm so sad and I just wanna cry of frustration and exhaustion. Weekends should be a good break from the busy weekdays. But not I feel more dreadful of weekend coming that even if I study ahead of class I'll still fail and be publicity humiliated with recitations that I really really loathe.

おはよう ございます!! Good Morning Song!

Shonen Knife's "Daydream Believer"

"Oh I could hide 'neath the wings of the bluebird as she sings
The six o'clock alarm would never ring
But it rings and I rise, wipe the sleep out of my eyes
My shaving razor's cold and it stings
Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean
To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen?
You once thought of me as a white knight on a steed
Now you know how happy I can be
Oh, and our good time starts and ends
With a dollar one to spend
But how much baby do we really need?"

Okay now for a happier entry! I just wanna say I'm so adoring the UNIQLO T-Shirts they're promoting now! They are just so cute and fabulous! I couldn't stop  surfing back and forth that I decided to make a roster of my top picks!

Tracy's Dear Diary: ... And I thought I could be a UNIQLO Designer.

You were all I wanted for Christmas and yet I didn't have.

Whimsical World of Adventure Time!

Cuteness overload! Surreal and so whimsical!

I'm in a writing zone now and I wanted to write one last blog to end the night! I can't think of anything for hours... I was just thinking... I wanna write something cute. I kept thinking about random things like toys, dolls, and trinklets of things... But inspiration came from Atreyu watching his usual cartoons right beside me. Being with a kid I actually learn lots of interesting and fresh ideas. I thank Atreyu for sharing to me his "hip-world" LOL.

I just wanna say that this cartoon is really cute~ I can give you several reasons:

1) It's whimsical and magical. Like how kiddie fairytale should be~

Candy Kingdom! Sweet!!
2) It has candy everywhere... The villagers are even made of candies!

The Candy People of Adventure Time!
2.1) ... even the princess is made from bubble gum Princess Bubblegum! Isn't she so adorable? I always overhear that she has bubblegum hair~ Isn't that so cute or what! haha!

3) Peppermint Butler is so cute! And I've never seen any other Peppermint Candy elsewhere in any cartoons!

4) There's a hipster emo-vampire teen-chick that makes the show "HIP" haha LOL but to give it a little dark twist in a cute way... They have Marceline the teen-vampire!
Marceline the EmoVamp!
5) Finn and Jake are the most adorable looking Knights and Heroes! Finn even has that cute hoodie! Haha!
The cute heroes!
6) Whatelse can top this CUTE MADNESS but a RAINBOW-colored-Korean-speaking-Flying-Unicorn! Lady Unicorn is simply the cherry on top of this cuteness overload!!

Lady Unicorn

You should check it out! I'm sure y'all like it! I've never seen a surreal and whimsical cartoons since "Spirited Away" haha but Adventure Time is much on the cuter side!

Tsunami by Tracy Dizon

I wanted to share this design I made for the longest time that I thought I already posted a blog about it. I just realized now that I haven't yet! Haha! This design I thought about entering a contest but since I don't have my "Winning Streak" anymore it hasn't had it's chance to be appreciated. LOL. But kidding aside, this design I made is one of my most favorite and meaningful designs I've ever done. I made this during a  very reflective period of my life. As I felt the overwhelming questions in mind... it reflected on my designs thinking about life questions about nature and how everything falls into place whether it may be good or bad.

I have always been in love with Hokusai's Paintings. They are iconic and simply beautiful. Honusai's paintings capture the simplicity and the harmony in nature that's why I never get tired looking at them. I actually send Hokusai Painting postcards to friends everytime I'm in Japan... I just simply think it's the best visual I can share to anyone who would like to experience Japan. Hehe.

Taka and Tracy's Grocery Love

Circa 2008 Guam Grocery Shopping!

I never thought I will find another person who has the same quirky hobbies such as grocery strolling and shopping. But I knew Taka and I were really meant to be together when I found out he enjoys strolling along grocery one year ago when he first visited Manila.

I can still remember we were strolling around the mall and Taka hesitatingly asked if we could just go around the grocery to kill time before meeting my siblings for dinner. Taka kept apologizing to me while we were going around circles in the grocery. I really didn't mind because I also enjoyed doing that when I'm bored or just to kill time. It was fun. Oddly, I knew then we really fit because of our simple joys we get from simple mundane things. This was the first time we went on grocery, I can still remember vividly how Taka observes the goods and he  compares prices in Japan and in Manila. I also do that whenever I go out of the country! Haha! I always want to have a photo in the grocery for some strange quirky habits haha.

Oriental Spring

Once again, I tried my luck to join a design contest. Although my long lost winning streak has been long and lost... I just try for posterity's sake and for my own personal amusement. I won't mind getting chosen again though... Who wouldn't want to participate in an international contest! Of course I would love that.

Anyways, this is the contest poster of the "Third Asian Wedding Arts and Design Competition 2012" that I joined.  I even had some technical problems submitting my entry because emails kept bouncing back... I even had to call the Hongkong office five times just to make sure they got my entry. Come to think of it, it doesn't really matter so much... Anyways I just do hope my entry was counted at least.

I really like this contest poster actually... It has this fresh spring charm to it that's why I was enticed to sketch something... This time I tried my luck with the Evening Gown /  Qipao Category. Last year I was really into wedding designs but I didn't get any luck getting picked haha. Well, let's cross fingers I'll be having some luck this time. If not, well, for posterity's sake it's always nice to draw and get to post some of my fashion illustrations. I really miss fashion illustration it's just a very slow process to me. I feel like I'm introspecting everytime I sketch... Oh yeah I design so personal and intimate like that. LOL~

My initial sketch posted on IG

Well, let me share my "Oriental Spring" design here... I was actually surprised when I posted this on Instagram and Facebook and got lots of likes. Hehe. I feel so encouraged and motivated! I got my first kick in of inspiration from Katy Perry's Cheongsam Red Carpet outfit in MTV Video Music Awards last year where she rocked a neon colored ensemble matched with a cute kamikazari headpiece. I just love how she rocks everything in a quirky kind of way!

But may be I'm more subdued and softer nowadays that my design evolved into a more romantic and softer feel. I dunno haha! I love and I super long for experiencing spring in Japan that I got so inspired doing this... that if I get picked for this contest I have an excuse to go to Tokyo and source my Kimono Silk fabric~ haha excuses LOL. But I enjoyed making it and thinking about nice Japanese Kimono Silk Prints. I'm really into those right now and hopefully I can come up with a nice collection in the coming months from this!

Katy Perry is my inspiration!

"Oriental Spring" by Tracy Dizon: One piece long gown ensemble in Japanese kimono silk with panel cut-out bodice and gold silk piping panels with peek-a-boo cut-out pieces around the bodice.

P.S. Last time I check the organizers said they will announce the finalists today. I guess I didn't get in coz I haven't heard anything today! Boo! Oh well! I still like my "Oriental Spring" Design haha!
