KUNG LUNG: Kakkoii Fun Shop in Nankinmachi Kobe Chinatown

Jannuary 3, 2013 ~ Found this super KAKKOII fun shop in Chinatown, Kobe!
Amidst the SHIN SHUN Sale madness, it was simply awesome that we ended up going around Chinatown (Nanjingtown) on our way to Center Gai in Sannomiya. I always wanted to check out the Chinatowns all over the world and of course I wouldn't miss checking out Chinatown in (Kobe) Japan! Mochiron, I think my Chinatown visit deserves a whole blog post... I want to start off my Kobe Chinatown adventure with a very unique and super cool shop that we found along the alleys of Kobe Chinatown... KUNG LUNG!

Toreishi ♡'s Winter Purikura in Kobe & Osaka!

January 4, 2013 ~ Shinsaibashi, Osaka! And to my joy to take another プリクラ booth! PURIKURA TIME again! This time with Atreyu & Taka!
One of my favorite things to do during trips in Japan is taking lots of プリクラ ~ Purikura in Japan! I always want to take プリクラ even almost everyday of my trip! Haha! How Self-indulgent and so vain! Haha! Gomen nasai, I'm just am obsessed with them... and by the power of technology, good lighting and great DSLR camera, プリクラ always makes me look picture perfect! Haha! Kareshi told me I look "even-prettier" in プリクラ haha! (Take note of the "even-prettier" haha or else I'll beat him up if he just find me pretty only in Purikura! LOL)

Our New Year's Prayer in Kyoto

January 1, 2013 ~ Our New Year's Prayer:
Our first EMA Prayers altogether: Taka, Atreyu and mine

It has been one of my Japan trip tradition to stop by a Shinto Shrine and offer some prayers.  It's always nice to have a piece of good vibes written down in a prayer. I have been doing it for a few times already in Tokyo and Osaka... As I visit more Shinto Shrines and Buddhist Temples in Japan (well I still have just visited few) I think I'm getting more interested with them. It was a whole new experience to see Shinto Shrines and learn about Shinto Prayers and Charms during the New Year. This time during our visit to the Fushimi Inari Taisha, I just wanted to do my Japan trip tradition altogether with Taka & Atreyu, it was definitely a memorable experience for us.

Street Shopping in Kyoto

Sushi-looking Candies! So KAWAII!
One part I enjoy after visiting temples and shrines in Japan is checking out the market nearby. It's always filled with interesting Japanese merchandise that brings-out the compulsive shopper in me. LOL. This is actually my second time to visit around a nearby market area, my first time was in Nakamise Dori in Asakusa in Tokyo. I must say that Kyoto  has a different charm in it as well. It's always interesting to see different street foods, traditional charms ~ Omamori, kawaii toys and sweets and just any knickknacks that's there to see... It's a fun place to get some inspiration and just find kawaii things that I love! Luckily, I took some extra-effort (despite the New Year's Day crowd) to take some photos of the enticing and colorful stuff I found.

10,000 Torii Gates in Kyoto ~ "The Ultimate Torii Experience"

January 1, 2013 ~ A much awaited visit to Kyoto to count  the 1300 torii gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha with Taka & Atreyu... "The Ultimate Torii Experience"

Visiting Kyoto on a New Year's Day was such a memorable cultural and spiritual experience... It was actually one of the places I was looking forward to see in our New Year Kansai Winter Trip... As I've mentioned in my previous post... I've dreamed about this place how serene it could be and despite the swarming number of people visiting the Shinto Shrines and Temples... It was really a great experience... one of the best sights I've seen in Japan.
